Who we are
The Virtual Navy is a group of likeminded enthusiasts who replicate operations similar to the real world US Navy in Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) and Microsoft Flight Simulator (VR-59 only). As a serious Milsim club we operate a variety of aircraft such as the F/A-18C, F-14B, MH-60S, F-16C, C-40A (Boeing 737-700), C-130J, and A-6E (upon release) using real world tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). We operate in an alt-reality, fictional story-based scenario developed by real world military combat veterans, giving our pilots a truly authentic experience. To further enhance our group we regularly consult with active and former Naval Aviators on how to better operate.
Why not just stick with single player campaigns
While there are some great single player campaigns on the market for DCS, there is really no comparison to flying with friends in an online multiplayer environment. The communication, coordination, and diverse operations possible in multiplayer are unmatched.
Trust us, there’s really no comparison to flying tight formation with a friend or working together as pilot and weapons system officer to drop a laser guided bomb on an IED factory.
Why so serious?
We might seem extreme to some, but for members who dreamed of being Naval Aviators, the Virtual Navy is a profound way to experience the camaraderie and operations of squadron life. While real-world obstacles prevented many from pursuing this path, our group meticulously recreates the experience, focusing on the positives of naval aviation without the negatives prevalent in real life. Here, we operate with a level of seriousness that preserves the integrity and thrill of flying, ensuring an authentic and fulfilling virtual experience for all who join. We don't just simulate; we live our dreams, as close to reality as possible, embracing all the good and shedding the bad.
Why we use DCS World
DCS world is the most realistic, comprehensive, and immersive combat simulator on the civilian market. While it still has its quirks and limitations, there is no better platform for Aviation Milsim. The aircraft we fly are extremely complex, being developed from the real world manuals and unclassified data as well as the help and license from the real world manufacturers. This depth allows us to provide our pilots with a more authentic experience, enhancing the enjoyment of everyone. Though most of our operations take place in DCS, VR-59 flys the C-40A (Boeing 737-700) in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
No Experience Necessary
We have developed a comprehensive training program to assist new pilots in learning the basics of MilSim, flying, and their aircraft of choice. Recruits join our training squadrons to learn and hone the skills necessary to become effective combat wingmen.
Full of amenities
We have several squadrons, different mission specialties, advanced courses, badges, awards, custom nametag, and personalized aircraft with custom helmet. Our deployments are well thought out realistic scenarios that take place in a persistent, dynamic environment.
